Trail Mark

A walked route stays in the memory as a shape. The long pull out of the valley, the flat stretch along the top, the knee-jarring drop at the end. Trail Mark keeps your routes that way — as drawn ridge lines rather than rows of text.

You give it a handful of waypoints, each one a distance from the start and a height. Trail Mark draws the profile from them, adds up the climb, finds the high point, and files the route in a stack of horizons you can scroll through.

Trail Mark does not use GPS. It asks for no location permission and never reads where your device is. Every figure on screen came from a number you typed. That means it works just as well planning at the kitchen table as it does the evening after a walk, and it means the app has nothing to track you with.

The climb is counted honestly. Total ascent is the sum of every upward stretch between consecutive waypoints, so an out-and-back route with two summits reports both. Descents are counted separately and never quietly cancel out a climb. A route with fewer than two waypoints simply says it has no profile yet, rather than drawing an invented flat line.

Routes you repeat build a history. Log a walk with the date, how long it took, and what the weather was doing. The trail then carries a running count of how many times you have been round it, when you were last out, and your quickest recorded time — useful if you have a regular loop you like to push on.

Totals gathers it all up. Ground covered across every logged walk, the metres climbed behind it, hours spent out, the biggest single ascent you have taken on, a bar for each month, and a breakdown of which routes carry most of your distance.
