FrequenSee - Spectrum Analyzer

See your voice, music or audio ... whatever your microphone can hear!

Features & Capabilities

FrequenSee is a powerful Chrome extension that lets you see your voice, music, or any audio picked up by your microphone in real time. Designed as a spectrum analyzer and audio visualizer, it displays 176 high-quality frequency bands ranging from 20Hz to 22kHz with a logarithmic frequency scale that aligns with human hearing perception.

The extension offers low latency and a high frame rate for smooth frequency and amplitude movements, ensuring an accurate and responsive experience. Optimized for efficiency, FrequenSee uses high-performance native code and OpenGL ES 2.0 for fast graphics rendering, resulting in low battery consumption even during extended use. With an FFT window size of 4096 operating at 60 frames per second, it provides precise and detailed audio analysis, making it ideal for testing audio equipment or simply visualizing sound in real time.

User Reviews

Users overall praise FrequenSee for its simplicity and accuracy; it's easy to use and provides fast, reliable spectrum readings that help with real-life tasks like detecting feedback and evaluating system changes. However, recurring criticisms center on the lack of configurability (no options, fixed window), absence of peak frequency detection, and the challenge of interpreting db values due to a negative-reference baseline (no 0 dB option). Accessibility and more advanced features are also requested. Overall, it's a practical tool that works well out of the box but could benefit from better settings, peak analysis, and adjustable scaling.
Pros
  • Simple and easy to use.
  • Accurate and responsive spectrum measurements with low lag.
  • Extremely useful for real-world audio tasks like detecting feedback and evaluating system upgrades.
  • Reliable and practical spectrum visualization that just works.
Cons
  • Not configurable; no options and a fixed window size.
  • Lacks peak frequency detection; peaks/frequencies aren’t shown.
  • dB readings start at negative values with no way to set 0 dB or adjust the reference.

Finally an update!!! Good app for seeing sound frequencies and finding feedback. Free on Android, paid on iOS. I wonder why.
