User Reviews

Reviewers largely praise Junkineering for its striking visuals, colorful art style, and imaginative robot designs, plus humorous bear commentary and an engaging apocalyptic vibe. The game is described as fun and visually appealing with a fast, responsive UI. However, multiple players flag significant downsides: heavy monetization and pay-to-upgrade systems; grindy progression and repetitive loops that slow long-term play; onboarding friction with lengthy tutorials delaying access to settings; missing basic features and limited content; and a lack of auto-battle/automation options that hampers grinding. Overall, it shines visually and conceptually but struggles with monetization, pacing, and depth.

  • Creative robot designs and varied parts that feel unique.

  • Atmospheric apocalyptic setting with humorous bear commentary and engaging world-building.
Cons
  • Monetization and microtransactions feel heavy, with pay-to-upgrade options.
  • Grinding pace is repetitive and progression is slow.
  • Onboarding is lengthy, gating access to settings and features.
  • Missing basic features and limited early content.
  • Lack of auto-battle/automation hampers grinding.

At the start, it's fun. No adds, no red dots everywhere, and it's not one of those games that play themselves. BUT it gets boring really fast. Like someone did write, it feels like you're playing a beta; the game is two years old. Opponents aren't balanced, number's in fights don't match the ones shown buildings your robots. Most worst, all parts you get are rng, and the chances for the good parts are really bad. Plus, no way to get the parts you'd like to get...

The game is a very interesting take on team building games. I find it difficult to build any robots without having a legendary body module. The other body pieces cost so much energy you can only put 1 good item on and everything else has to be trash. which makes the whole robot as a whole trash. It doesn't seem very rewarding for parts either. In team building games you can get 1 copy of a decent character, level it up, throw gear on it and it'll at least be beneficial. On here nope.
