PANNING FOR GOLD IN THE UK, FOR ANY LEVEL
New to it? Start with the free sites and the plain-English beginner guide - what a pan does, how to read a river, and what UK gold actually looks like when you find it. Been at it for years? The full map opens up ground you will not find on a forum: Leadhills and Wanlockhead, the Mawddach and Dolgellau gold belt, Cornwall's tin-stream valleys, the Sperrins, Sutherland and the Tyndrum permit sites.

WHAT IT COSTS
Four sites are free to browse with no account at all, and eight with a free account. A single one-off purchase then unlocks the full map for life - no subscription. Pro adds 105 premium sites and the BGS geology overlay.

WHY IT IS DIFFERENT
Every location is compiled from public, authoritative sources: BGS open data and Mineral Reconnaissance Programme reports, Ordnance Survey grid references and documented mineral-occurrence records. This is real geology, not folklore, and it is checked rather than crowd-sourced.

KNOW THE LAW BEFORE YOU GO
Gold in the ground in Britain belongs to the Crown under the Mines Royal, and the land it sits on belongs to somebody. Every site carries its own permission line, and the built-in legal guide covers Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland - Crown consent, permit schemes, protected rivers and where panning is simply not allowed. Prospect legally, leave the river as you found it.
