User Reviews

Users broadly praise Click to Remove Element for reliably decluttering pages by removing or hiding nuisance elements, resulting in cleaner UI across sites. It’s viewed as a strong daily-use tool that enhances the browsing experience. Some requests focus on added customization and convenience, such as per-element controls, per-site remembered removals, and a quick activation shortcut. A few potential enhancements cited include reducing the UI footprint, making the panel draggable, and adding DOM-deletion options instead of just hiding elements.
Pros
  • Efficiently removes nuisance elements and cleans up page UI across websites (e.g., Outlook)
  • Improves daily browsing experience by keeping web apps clean and clutter-free
  • Offers useful customization and quick activation options for per-element removal (per-site memory of removals and renaming options mentioned by users)

This addon has been using 3-4GB of RAM as well as 10-15% of CPU when it hasn't even been activated on a page. Since disabling it I haven't seen anywhere close to as much memory use from Firefox so it was clearly the culprit. I've used this extension for years but I no longer trust it, recommend you either remove it entirely or only enable it when you need it if you can't find an alternative.
