Chrome Tab Search Firefox

Chrome Tab Search

Chrome-style tab search for Firefox with audio-tab visibility, tab closing, recent restore, and tab group indicators.

Features & Capabilities

Chrome Tab Search is for Firefox users who miss the exact feel and workflow of Chrome's built-in Tab Search popup.

It gives Firefox a compact toolbar popup for finding open tabs by title or URL, switching to a selected tab, seeing tabs that are playing audio or muted, closing a tab from the list, restoring recently closed tabs or windows, and showing Firefox tab group names and colors when the browser exposes them.

Why this plugin:

  1. Chrome tab search clone if you love Chrome's Tab Search.
  2. Shows playing audio and muted tabs in an Audio & Video section.
  3. Dark mode support.
  4. Custom font sizing support.
  5. No BS.

Known Firefox limitations:

  1. Firefox has an extension popup size limit of 800px wide by 600px tall, so the popup cannot be made as large or as flexible as Chrome's built-in Tab Search UI.
  2. Firefox does not allow extensions to override existing reserved browser shortcuts such as Cmd+Shift+A. Use the included default shortcut or set another available shortcut from Firefox's extension shortcut settings.

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
