THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL EXTENSION, BE CAUTIOUS WHILE USING IT
This extension was not made by ChatGPT, it's probably a 3rd party port made by a guy who only made two extensions on this account.
I would recommend be very cautious while using it, especially since creator of it is from Russia
This will probably steal your account tokens (e.g. get access to your accounts like "Discord" or even steal saved login info)

I think that the search function should call a temporary chat by default. Other than that, pretty solid.

Is ChatGPT search Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
ChatGPT search requires very minimum permissions.
