SafeCare BC

‘SafeCare BC’ is the official app of the SafeCare BC Health and Safety Association. SafeCare BC supports the health and safety of its 28,000+ private long-term care, home and community support service members within over 850-member sites throughout British Columbia.
The SafeCare BC app offers health and safety resources for BC’s continuing care providers to improve access to quality training opportunities for peer educators and healthcare workers within the continuing care sector in BC. SafeCare BC strives to empower those working in the sector to create safer, healthier workplaces by fostering a culture of safety through evidence-based education, leadership, and collaboration.
Users can access valuable features such as health and safety resources and tools (e.g. ‘Front-line Resources’, ‘Newsletter’, ‘Safety in 60 Seconds’), register for workshops (e.g. Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum, LPN Leadership, Safe Client/Resident Handling), access workshop materials (slides, documents, pre-readings, quizzes, surveys), and connect with SafeCare BC (social media links, video links, contact information). SafeCare BC will continue to work to ensure that new and updated materials are being posted on the app regularly.
This app was developed in response to feedback from members seeking new online learning opportunities. The app helps SafeCare BC connect with its members, support course participants, increase access to course materials, improve material retention, and grow brand recognition. Features of the app are available online or offline depending on their purpose.
