Bookmarked Search Firefox

Bookmarked Search

Searches the selected text using a search engine from your bookmarked search engines

Features & Capabilities

The Bookmarked Search extension lets you search highlighted text using any of your bookmarked search engines. It integrates seamlessly with your Firefox bookmarks, syncing search engines across your devices if Firefox Sync is enabled. Simply select text, right-click to open the context menu, and pick your preferred search engine to initiate the search. You can open results in background tabs by holding Ctrl or middle-clicking, enabling smooth multitasking.

Adding bookmarks as search engines is straightforward — right-click the search box on your favorite site and choose "Add a keyword for this search." Please note that the extension supports only bookmarks added as search engines using the GET method, and it does not support search engine extensions. This tool simplifies your search workflow using engines you trust, directly from your browser context menu.

Is Bookmarked Search Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Bookmarked Search requires very minimum permissions.
