This extension is no longer supported (as of Oct 2017). Unresolved issues include: • Really support RegEx (it only supports * and shows an equivalent RegEx that you can't edit • Work with Google sites (since they constitute 95% of useless history spam) • Support whitelists. Currently it only (sort of) supports blacklists. If there's no better extension that does the above, you might be stuck with this one, mediocre though it is. Another way to somewhat reduce History spam is via chrome://flags. Look for "New History entries require a user gesture" and Enable. It won't stop redundant entries resulting from navigation and clicks, but at least it prevents dupes that crap sites insert to make it harder to leave when you click Back (and it also disables said annoyance).
