BeAware Bahrain app is the official contact tracing app for The Kingdom of Bahrain. Together Against COVID-19:
In accordance with instructions from Crown Prince to utilize technology to help limit the spread of COVID-19 and in line with Minister of Health instructions to enforce the installation and usage of BeAware Bahrain mobile app for cases under home isolation, as per Public Health Laws in Bahrain, that gives the authority to the minister of health to the take necessary actions to limit the spread of such pandemics. Additionally, voluntary contact tracing capabilities are provided to registered app users. Location tracking will not be active for non-registered users.
As citizens and residents, we have both a community and individual responsibility to safeguard the safety and well-being of all.
BeAware has additional features related to view the users’ official cards, health cards and health appointments as well as MonkeyPox Recovery Certificate,MonkeyPox Isolation certificate
This application provides a number of services in collaboration with the following entities:
• Ministry of Health
• The National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus COVID-19
• The Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA)
• The General Directorate of Traffic (GDT)

In support of all communities within the Kingdom of Bahrain & to leave no one behind, the app is available in two languages (Arabic, English)

Pros

The app serves great functions and provides useful information.
Easy to navigate for things like booking test appointments.
Works well for uploading documents when functioning correctly.

Cons

Photo upload feature is frequently problematic and often fails.
App does not send timely notifications for photo uploads during self-isolation.
Continual issues with app accessibility and geolocation services.

Recent reviews

I initially gave the app 5 stars, but recently, the photo uploading doesn't work. During the travel-mandated isolation in September, photo uploading was no issue at all. Replies to complaints are generic- uninstall, reinstall, check and grant all required permissions, all of which have been done, to no avail. Access to isolation and recovery certificate and its other features remain and are still very useful.

The App is excellent. But after testing positive I was unable to complete the registration process, the app kept on showing "To complete registration, kindly capture and attach your personal photo" and the loading screen. I was unable to take the picture to complete the process. I contacted the Information & eGovernment Authority directly via Tawasul app. And immediately found the solution. I was using NOKIA 5.4, the device is not compatible. I installed the app on another brand and is working.
