Welcome to Solguiden - your personal sun and outdoor dining assistant! With Solguiden, you can easily find cafes, bars and restaurants in the city that are sunny right now, or plan a sunny visit later in the day.

Main functions
Time selector
Drag the handle at the top to select the time (interval 1 hour). See which places have sun right then.

Interactive map
Yellow markers show outdoor seating with sun, grouped clusters when there are many places close to each other.

Detailed location info
Press the markers for address, type of place and price level. Zoom in to study the sun's path over the area.

My position
One tap on the "My Location" button shows sunny spots near you.

2D/3D display
Switch between 2D and 3D to get a better overview of the solar conditions when you zoom in.

This is how the solar calculations work
The solar guide uses 3D map data of buildings and trees combined with accurate astronomical calculations. The result gives a precision of 1 m and updates every 15 minutes. Coordinates for the outdoor seating have been entered manually - later we will calculate an average over the entire outdoor area. Note that clouds are not currently included, and that trees may appear as barriers in some cases.
