AutoScrolling Firefox

AutoScrolling

This plugin enable you auto-scrolling without using mouse wheel. If you click the icon in the toolbar, vertically scrolling is started(the speed is slow). When you switch the active tab, or click the icon again, the auto-scrolling is stopped.

Features & Capabilities

AutoScrolling is a handy Chrome extension that allows you to automatically scroll web pages vertically without using the mouse wheel. By simply clicking the toolbar icon, slow and smooth auto-scrolling begins, providing hands-free navigation. Clicking the icon again stops the scrolling, and switching tabs also automatically halts the action.

This tool is especially useful when multitasking or playing games while keeping an eye on social media sites like Twitter or Tumblr. AutoScrolling enhances your browsing experience by making content consumption easier and more convenient without manual scrolling.

User Reviews

Users broadly praise AutoScrolling for improving reading long articles and behaving consistently on many pages. However, reliability varies by site and device, with multiple reports of not working on certain sites or mobile, slow or unstable scrolling, and occasional keystroke issues. Some users seek smoother performance and, in a few cases, frame/iframe support.
Pros
  • Effective for reading long texts and longreads, improving the reading experience.
  • Reliable and consistent, works as advertised across many pages.
  • Helpful for users with limited input devices (e.g., old mouse wheel) to scroll more easily.
  • Generally positive and easy to use across multiple sites.
Cons
  • Not functioning on many sites and on mobile devices (not reliable on some platforms).
  • Scrolling is slow or becomes unresponsive, with speeds not always behaving as expected.
  • Keystroke controls can be unreliable or stop working at times.
  • Scrolling can jitter, making text hard to read on some pages.
Recent reviews
I'm being too fussy, I tied several other scroller add-ons and they were less them ideal. It is nice for reading chapters I need to edit as my mouse is so old the wheel isn't working correctly. (I appreciate this!) Request: make this work in text areas like in the writer.bighugelabs, royalroad, google docs and such. Thank you. Also, please add in a donation option to support you. <3
