Features & Capabilities

AutoScroll Pro scrolls the page for you, at a pace you set, so you can read long articles, comics and documents without touching the wheel.

WORKS WHERE OTHER AUTO-SCROLLERS STALL

Most auto-scroll extensions assume the browser window is what scrolls. Very often it isn't. Blogs put the text in an <article> element, manga readers use a reader panel, and web apps scroll inside a fixed layout. AutoScroll Pro checks what actually has room to scroll and targets that instead of guessing.

It also handles the things that fight an auto-scroller: • Pages with CSS smooth scrolling, which make other extensions stutter or crawl • Snap-scrolling pages that drag every step back • PDF auto-scroll works in Firefox's built-in viewer. • Infinite-scroll and lazy-loading pages, where it waits for new content instead of stopping at a false bottom • Works on Firefox for Android. Turn on the floating controls in the options page, since Android supports neither keyboard shortcuts nor right-click menus.

If it still picks the wrong area, use "Pick scroll area" and choose it yourself. Your choice is remembered for that site.

CONTROLS

• Speed 1 to 100, scroll up, down, left or right • Smooth or step-by-step mode • Space to pause and resume while reading • Alt+S to start and stop, Alt+Up and Alt+Down for speed • Right-click menu with Slow, Medium and Fast presets • Optional floating on-page controls you can drag anywhere • Auto-pause when you scroll or click, resuming after 2 seconds

FOR LONG READS

• Detects PDFs, manga and manhwa, blogs and infinite-scroll pages, and applies a different speed to each • Auto-advance to the next chapter when you reach the end • Loop back to the top instead of stopping • Focus mode dims everything outside a reading strip • Timer mode stops after a set duration • Remembers where you stopped, per page • Remembers the speed you chose, per site • Saved profiles for sites you read often • Dark mode

PRIVACY

AutoScroll Pro requests two permissions: storage, to save your settings, and contextMenus, for the right-click menu. It requests no host permissions at all. It makes no network requests, collects nothing, and tracks nothing. Your settings sync through your own browser account and go nowhere else.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS • Content inside a cross-origin iframe will not scroll.

Is AutoScroll Pro Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

AutoScroll Pro requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
