asbplayer is a free, open-source Android extension built for serious language learners who use subtitled media to study. Unlike similar tools such as Language Reactor, asbplayer works across almost every streaming video service and lets you interact directly with subtitles to boost vocabulary and comprehension while watching shows and videos.

Enhance any streaming video element with selectable subtitles (bring your own files or use auto-detected subtitles on services like Netflix and YouTube), capture screenshots, record short audio clips when available, and use the built-in UI to create high-quality Anki flashcards containing subtitles, screenshots, and audio. Note: the Firefox for Android build has a reduced feature set versus Chromium — no side panel, no DRM-protected audio recording, and no keyboard shortcuts.
