Features & Capabilities

AppliCat — Stop Retyping Your Life Story

Job searching is already hard enough. AppliCat takes the most tedious part — filling in the same name, email, phone number, work authorization status, and self-identification fields on every single application — and handles it for you.

How it works: The first time you fill out an application, AppliCat watches what you type and asks if you want to save it. Say yes once. Every application after that, AppliCat offers to fill those fields in automatically.

That's it. No account. No setup wizard. No onboarding flow. Just less typing.

What AppliCat saves and fills: Personal info — first name, last name, email, phone, LinkedIn, portfolio URL Work authorization — "Are you authorized to work?" and visa sponsorship questions Voluntary self-identification — gender, race/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status Language proficiency — language, reading, speaking, writing levels

Supported ATS platforms: AppliCat works on the job application systems used by thousands of companies including

Manage your saved info Click the AppliCat icon anytime to see exactly what's been saved. Edit any field, delete individual entries, or clear everything — right from the extension. Nothing is hidden from you.

Your data stays on your device AppliCat has no backend, no server, no account, and no data collection. Everything is stored locally in your browser using built-in sync. We don't see it. Nobody does but you.

The origin story A former colleague once posted on LinkedIn that she speaks five languages and spends 70% of her job search filling in the same form over and over. AppliCat was built for her — and for everyone else who's had to type their own name into a text field for the hundredth time.

Is AppliCat Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

AppliCat requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

AppliCat is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
