Review summary

Overall, Skullcandy Android app feedback is largely negative. The dominant theme is unreliability: many users report frequent pairing and connectivity failures, inability to switch modes, or devices failing to appear or connect. Compatibility gaps across models (Crusher Evo, Ink'd, Smok'n Buds, Uproar ANC) and Android versions (notably Android 13) are repeatedly mentioned, along with poor or slow updates. Users also complain about missing core features (no equalizer, no customizable tap controls) and intrusive marketing. A minority note occasional usable performance and acceptable sound, but the prevailing sentiment is frustration and low trust in support and updates.
Pros
  • When it functions, the app lets you set up personalized sound and movie mode for Skullcandy headphones.
  • A few reviews describe the app as usable or that it works in some cases.
  • Some reviewers mention the headphones deliver solid sound quality when connected.
Cons
  • Frequent pairing/connectivity failures and mode switching glitches.
  • Compatibility and update issues across models and Android versions (Android 13, Crusher Evo, Ink'd, Smok'n Buds, Uproar ANC).
  • Missing essential features (no equalizer, no configurable tap controls) and perceived marketing interference.
  • Limited or poor support and slow updates.
  • Discovery and device linking problems (rarely links, not showing devices).

DO NOT INSTALL I REPEAT DO NOT INSTALL. I used it for my Skullcandy crusher Evo 2 and bass on them has failed. I thought I was imagining things but then I searched up and apparently it is known case. It didn't work even after reset. Wild guess but good chance they done this on purpose so you buy new headphones either way I'm disappointed.

Had zero issues with Spotify IQ and now I suddenly can no longer adjust my volume using the 1 second hold for my Rails DESPITE what my button settings are. Disconnected, uninstalled, re-paired, ALL THAT and they are still treating 1 second hold as Spotify tap, BOTH earbuds. Extremely annoying.

since they switched from skull iq which was good to this garbage the app is horiable. Takes minutes to connect just to disconnect for no reason. They should have just kept skull iq.

Shortcuts don't save. nearly every time I pull my Rail ANC out of the case I have to re-bind my earbuds to my bluetooth, re-open the app, and then re-modify my shortcuts and turn off voice control. The app experience has ruined the Skullcandy brand for me, and I won't be purchasing another of their products as long as I live. edit: Emailed days ago. No response. No, a response to my review on the other app doesnt count. I've emailed separately regarding my issues here and heard no response.
