Every time you open one of the apps you picked, pourquoi.app asks why. Answering takes a second, and nothing gets blocked. Your screen time, your call.

HOW IT WORKS
• A question when you open an app. Pick your apps, and the question pops up over the app as soon as you open one, or when you unlock your phone. It just needs a few Android permissions, and setup is guided.
• Name your reason. It takes one tap. Saying what you came for turns a habit into a choice.
• See what changes. Your answers and your screen time show where your time goes when you're not really choosing. No scores, no guilt trips.

HOW ABOUT DOING SOMETHING ELSE?
When you open an app without knowing why, or keep going back to it, pourquoi.app suggests a few ideas. It's up to you. And anytime, right from the app or by long-pressing its icon, you can start a breathing exercise or a phone-down timer.
• Breathe for a minute: 5 seconds in, 5 seconds out. Sound and gentle vibrations guide you, so you can close your eyes.
• Put your phone down: an hourglass runs for the time you set.
• Step outside for a bit, read two pages, call someone, or make a cup of tea.
• While a timer is running, every minute away from your apps adds sand to your jar. Give your phone a little tap, and the sand settles.

• At setup, see how many days a year your screen time adds up to, based on your own numbers, not an average.
• Your goal, tracked day by day against the previous 7 days: less phone time at night, less screen time overall, or fewer no-reason opens.
