Apollolytics

Apollolytics is an extension that enables users to check text on websites for the presence of propaganda techniques and to contextualise claims within.

Features & Capabilities

🔎 Apollolytics is a browser extension that helps you to identify propaganda techniques in online content and provides context for any claims you encounter.

⚡ Simply right-click anywhere on the webpage, select 'Detect Propaganda', and within seconds, the text will be analysed and highlighted with possible propaganda techniques.

👉 Alternatively, click and drag over a section of text, right-click, and select either 'Detect Propaganda on Selection' or '... with Contextualizer' to analyse the chosen text. The Contextualizer provides additional context for claims, including links to reliable sources.

Once installed, clicking the Apollolytics logo opens the main extension panel. Here you can:

⚙️ - Change settings, such as which model is used. 📊 - View Propaganda Analytics, including the most common techniques yo encounter and a breakdown by website. 🗂️ - Access the Detection History, which saves all results generated using the tool. 🔒 - Export or delete all of your data—Apollolytics is committed to data privacy and transparency. 📖 - See detailed descriptions of all the propaganda techniques Apollolytics detects.

🇨🇭 Apollolytics is developed by researchers of the University of Zurich and the University of Lausanne.

We are committed to ensuring that no identifiable user data is stored on our servers.

Disclaimer Apollolytics may occasionally flag content as propaganda in error. All detections and explanations are automatically generated and do not reflect the views of the authors or associated universities.

User Reviews

Apollolytics is an unbelievable browser extension for spotting propaganda. It is incredibly easy to use, seamlessly integrates into browsing, and helps contextualize information. It also empowers users to critically analyze content and makes them think more extensively about certain topics, making it an, in my humble opinion, essential tool for informed online engagement. Highly recommended!

High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Apollolytics requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
