Anon browser

By: ayoul3
Randomize key browser attributes to avoid fingerprinting and user tracking. The attributes such as user-agent are altered just enough to have different values at each request while minimizing the impact on the browsing experience.

Features & Capabilities

Anon Browser is an extension that randomizes some Navigator attributes used for fingerprinting and tracking user activity.

It acts at two levels: HTTP Headers (User-Agent and Accept headers) and the Navigator Object in Javascript.

Example user-agent generated:

  • Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 8.0; Win64; x64; rv:48.0) Gecko/20100125 Firefox/102.20
  • Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 8.0; Win64; x64; rv:78.0) Gecko/20100112 Firefox/99.25

Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Anon browser requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.
