Anki Questions Firefox

Anki Questions

Generate Anki flashcards from selected web text using your own Gemini API key.

Features & Capabilities

Anki Questions helps students turn selected web text into study material. Select a passage on any webpage, then generate self-contained Anki flashcards or ask Gemini to explain the selected content. The extension uses your own Gemini API key, stored locally in your browser, and can send generated cards directly to Anki through AnkiConnect.

Main features:

  • Generate basic question-and-answer flashcards from selected webpage text.
  • Ask follow-up questions about a selected passage using the “Explain me” option. (doesn't persist conversation)
  • Keep answers hidden until you choose to reveal them, avoiding spoilers while reviewing.
  • Send individual cards or all generated cards to Anki.
  • Configure default Anki deck and tags.
  • Load existing Anki tags when AnkiConnect is available.
  • Automatic retry when Gemini is temporarily unavailable.

Requirements: To generate cards or explanations, you need your own Gemini API key from Google AI Studio. To send cards to Anki, Anki Desktop must be running with the AnkiConnect add-on installed. The extension does not provide a backend service and does not store your API key on an external server.
