Alt+Up is a user-friendly Chrome extension that enables seamless navigation to parent URLs using easy keyboard shortcuts such as Alt+Up (or Command+Up on Mac). It simplifies browsing by moving up one directory level, trimming anchors, query strings, files, or subdomains from the current URL in a prioritized order.

Built as a fork from the original NavigUp extension, Alt+Up enhances usability by allowing keyboard shortcuts to work even without page focus, removing the extension icon from the address bar to reduce clutter, and supporting ftp:// and file:// URL schemes. It requires minimal permissions limited to accessing tabs for URL updates and preserves secure SSL connections. Users can also customize shortcuts to jump directly to domain or subdomain root levels. Licensed under Affero GPL v3, Alt+Up respects user privacy and collects no personal data.

Cool idea, but Alt+Left doesn't actually return me to my previous page. Alt+Up doesn't write anything into history, which is weird

とても使える拡張機能です。 'Alt + ↑' を押すと、下記のようにページ遷移します。スラッシュが末尾に重なることもありますが、特に問題になったことはありません。 It's working well! When I press 'Alt + UP', chrome will move like followings: ---------------- www.abc.com/Contents/a.html -> www.abc.com/Contents/ www.abc.com/Contents/ -> www.abc.com/ e-commerce.abc.com -> www.abc-corp.com ---------------- Sometimes it moves to www.abc.com//, but it doesn't matter in my case. By pressing 'Alt + UP' again to go to www.abc.com.
