User reviews
Blur It Out is praised for automatically blurring sensitive or unwanted text based on user-defined blacklists, easing tasks like live demonstrations and content editing. Users appreciate its ability to handle dynamic pages and the thoughtful hover control feature. However, multiple reviews highlight issues with excessive blur coverage, delayed application on page load causing brief content exposure, and occasional challenges on complex sites like Twitter. Some users express desire for features like persistent blur on hover to improve screencapture usability.
Pros
- Effectively blurs sensitive information automatically, saving time in video editing and live presentations.
- Allows users to create a blacklist of words to blur, useful for privacy and avoiding spoilers.
- Has thoughtful features like hover enable/disable for better control.
- Supports dynamic content and works well even when pages reload.
- Very useful for avoiding unwanted or sensitive content during browsing or screencaptures.
Cons
- Sometimes blurs large portions of the webpage instead of just specific words, reducing precision.
- Does not always work perfectly on complex websites like Twitter due to site changes.
- Occasionally shows sensitive content briefly before fully loading the blur, which is problematic for livestreams or videos.
- Lacks an option to keep the blur active when the mouse pointer hovers over blurred areas, limiting its usability for screencaptures.

Excelente!

Many a times it becomes a headache to blur sensitive information of web pages in video editing software. Especially when the webpage is moving/dynamic then blur function doesn't work properly all the time revealing sensitive information while editing in video editing software and as a result lot of time is wasted. This chrome extension is an excellent hack to overcome this pain. Works effortlessly and the "Hover" enable/disable function is well thought out. Even when webpage is reloaded it captures with the same accuracy
