WHY IT EXISTS
Many homes have alarms in several rooms, but the maintenance details are scattered across labels, memory, paper notes, or smart-home apps tied to specific hardware. AlarmGrid is built for the common case: you already have certified alarms, and you need a simple place to keep the upkeep record current.

Use the app after a real button test, a battery change, a chirp, a failed alarm, a move-in inspection, or a seasonal walkthrough. The board turns those entries into clear next actions so you can see which detector needs a monthly test, which battery date is due, and which alarm is getting close to its replacement window.

WHAT YOU CAN TRACK
Add each detector with a name, room, level, alarm type, power source, install year, and notes. Save smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, and combination alarms in the same inventory. The floor grid gives a quick visual check of where devices are logged across levels, while the action list highlights missing smoke or CO coverage by level.

MONTHLY TEST LOG
When you press a detector's real test button, record the result in AlarmGrid. Save pass, fail, skipped, chirp heard, battery replaced, and notes. The app updates the detector's last-test date and keeps a dated history that can help with household checkups, landlord records, roommate handoffs, or personal maintenance routines.

BATTERY AND REPLACEMENT REVIEW
AlarmGrid shows due dates for removable and hardwired backup batteries, then separates those from alarm replacement windows. Smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm timelines can vary by model, so the app keeps the reminder practical and still tells you to confirm the printed label and manufacturer instructions.

PRIVACY AND DATA
Alarm records and test history are stored on your device. The app does not use accounts, ads, analytics, location, camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, or payment features. Optional feedback sends your message and optional email over HTTPS through Web3Forms for support.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE
AlarmGrid does not detect smoke, carbon monoxide, alarm sounds, emergencies, or indoor air quality. It is a maintenance organizer and reference log. Always follow the alarm label, manufacturer instructions, certified alarm requirements, and local fire authority guidance.
