Features & Capabilities

The "Add to Couch" extension requires the Couch app (version 5.5 or later) to be installed on at least one of your devices. Couch is a read-it-later app available for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Learn more: couchreader.app Save the current tab via the toolbar button, or any link via the right-click context menu — directly to your Couch library in iCloud.

How saving works

Couch installed on the same device — the extension saves directly to the app, even when Couch isn't running.
Couch installed on another device — the extension logs you into your iCloud account and saves via the web interface. Note that this may not work on all networks, or if you have Advanced Data Protection enabled for your iCloud account.

The extension can be installed on any desktop — including non-Apple devices — as long as Couch is installed somewhere to process your saved URLs.

Privacy The extension and Couch collect no data. Your saved items are stored securely in your iCloud account and are yours alone.

User Reviews

Really appreciate the Couch developer, Alexander making a Firefox extension! However, I was not able to Log into my Apple ID account via the Couch Extension Bridge so I wasn't able to test this extension out. I have security keys and passkeys for my 2FA and I tried multiple methods to login but I never could authenticate successfully. I had the same issue trying to authenticate on the Couch Extension Bridge on Chrome as well. I understand this is a brand new extension so I am giving the dev some grace. One way this could be fixed is to avoid the 2FA situation altogether & implement an Apple ID Application-specific Password. Will update my score when this gets fixed. Would love to be able to actually try this extension out!
