User reviews
Quick JIRA is praised for speeding up access to JIRA tickets and improving productivity. Users find it simple and very useful for quickly opening issues from IDs found in emails or messages. However, many users express frustration about the omnibox search feature that hijacks Chrome's address bar when typing 'jira' with no toggle to disable it. Additionally, support for multiple JIRA instances is a commonly requested enhancement. Some users also mention minor setup difficulties and desire for more customization options like hotkeys and recent ticket lists.
Pros
- Quick JIRA significantly speeds up workflow by allowing fast access to JIRA tickets using ticket IDs, saving time on searching and navigating.
- The extension is user-friendly once set up, and works exactly as described, making it a handy productivity tool.
- It supports quick navigation to JIRA issues from various sources like emails or commit messages, enhancing convenience.
- The extension helps users avoid unnecessary steps like opening new tabs or manually searching for tickets.
- Overall, users find it very useful and would recommend it to others needing to quickly access JIRA tickets.
Cons
- The inability to disable or customize the omnibox search feature causes frustration, especially since it hijacks Chrome's address bar when typing 'jira'.
- Users desire support for multiple JIRA instances, as many work with more than one base URL but the extension currently supports only one.
- Some users find the initial setup confusing, particularly regarding configuring the base URL and shortcuts.
- There is a wish for additional features such as multi-instance support, quick access to recently opened tickets, and customizable hotkeys or toggles (e.g., from right-click menu).
- The omnibox search feature interfering with general Google searches starting with 'jira' is a recurring complaint.

Does what it does well but yes it needs an option to disable the takeover of the search - it really interferes when you want to google something starting with "jira"

Really helpful but please either give a setting to disable Omnibox thing or disable it in code.
I had to manually edit the manifest file to disable it. It is very irritating everytime I am searching something starting with 'Jira' it iterfiers and takes it as ticket id.
