User Reviews

Users praise 2FAS for its security-first approach (TOTPs stay on the phone with push approvals) and a polished, feature-rich experience, plus data export/migration and Android syncing. The main trade-off is convenience: you must approve via your mobile device for each code, which some find pointless or cumbersome compared to desktop-only workflows. Overall, it’s valued for security and portability with some workflow friction.
Pros
  • Security-focused design that keeps TOTPs on your phone and uses push approvals to deliver codes in-browser
  • Data portability via export/migration so you can switch accounts without re-adding them
  • Well-designed, feature-rich, and secure overall experience
  • Good integration with Android/mobile and syncing across devices
  • Open-source (foss) project nature appeals to users who prefer libre software
Cons
  • Requires mobile approval for every 2FA code; not a standalone desktop solution, reducing convenience
  • Some users feel the workflow is pointless because they still have to use their phone to approve each time
  • Reliance on the mobile app for core functionality can lead to occasional reliability issues or bugs reported by some users

A stupid extension and an even stupider Android app. The biggest problem with the Android app is that you can't import or use your own .ico or .png file for the icons. With 50+ entries, it looks awful. Some entries have icons, some don't, and some have the wrong icon. It's unusable. Completely ridiculous. I uninstalled everything.
