Milky Way Over Quiver Trees was the NASA Astronomy Picture Of the Day December 12, 2012. Find it at apod.nasa.gov. It is a beautiful shot of a forest of Quiver trees on a clear starry night. A Blue hue was applied to this persona for blue fans.
Titanic 100 Years. Includes the ghosted names of about 40 passengers.
Montreal Canada City Scape. Dark blue lights, reflection on the water. Wanna be there.
Dolphins swimming on sandy beach.
Black holes in space spiral out of control leaving blue neon nautilus shaped artifacts. Dark background and soft light display provide great contrast and usability for this astronomy abstract.
Parrot Lovebird double date in a lime green background. These 4 small Parrots are Fischers Lovebirds from Africa, at least they were sometime in their distant ancestral past. Don't try to figure out the girl from the boy. You can't without a DNA test. Females may be seen as friendlier and more intelligent than males, and thus as better pets. mmm. Maybe a firefox is needed to straighten things out here?
Did I say blue yet? Three blue roads meander across each other and a background of blue spheres while a blue Firefox naps in the corner.
Fractal forms finally frolic for Firefox. Fairly fun feelings fan flames famous for fighting fairies, fuchsia fanged felines, fearsome fauna, flying flamingos. Frank Farley fooled flowing flowers finally fallen from fluorescent forest firs, first fanning fifteen ferns found frugally finding freedom.
Sistine Chapel denizens play with Firefox. Michelangelo's Ezekiel, Botticelli's Moses and Botticelli's famous grape-toting, snake-fighting baby variously glare at, poke at, and lift up, the Firefox.
Mohan white tiger. Big cats are black and white with green eyes.
Where is Mary, mother of Jesus? Perhaps hanging out in the Elephant Trunk nebula in the Cepheus constellation. This is one of my "You see what you want to see" Firefox Personas. Statues of Saint Mary adorn the entrance to many Catholic churches. Original NASA photo of the Elephants Trunk nebula located at http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap101106.html
Lord of the Rings Sketchbook tribute, The Armies Gather. Hordes of Orcs, Trolls, Goblins, Wargs, Eagles, and Humans duke it out. Wouldn't want to be there!
Gary Larson - The Far Side. Published from 1980 to 1994. Sometimes irreverent, sometimes hilarious, sometimes subtle, Gary's strips always provided alternate perspectives on common things in everyday life. My favorite publication was 'The Complete Far Side', printed in 2003. It contains all 14 years of Far Side strips. The 2 volume set weighs in at 20 lbs, not good for lap reading.
African Fox lounges in prime real estate wondering what the heck you are doing. Well... not a real African fox cuz he has small ears and totally different markings than a real African Fox. But he, or she, IS posing in Africa under the Acacia trees... kinda. But the sun really does set in Africa... And the orange dawg IS watching you. Or not. OK. Whatever.
Leopard sharks prowl the translucent waters of Geofox Bay.
Abstractually challenged African Elephant charges the browser to protect Wildebeest friends who are grazing peacefully near an acacia tree during the middle of a Serengeti sunset. Firefox rests in the tall grass enjoying the soft evening breeze and trying not to get trampled.
More love between Mickey and Minnie mice. This time on a beach trip with Goofy who brought his favorite Firefox beach ball. Goofy never seems to find romance but he sure likes to play with his round toys. Waves, ocean, goofy, minnie, mickey, love, mice, cheese.
The Creation of Adam fresco by Michelangelo on the Sistine Chapel ceiling was painted around 1512. It is the most well-known of the Sistine Chapel fresco panels, and its fame as a piece of art is rivaled only by the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. The image of the near-touching hands of God and Adam has become one of the single most iconic images of humanity.
Guercino - Jesus and the Samaritan Woman at the Well - 1641. From John 4. "whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst". Guercino was one of the foremost painters of the seventeenth century. Firefox approves.
Image of Woman with Baby seems to be imbedded in the stars. Find the image in the middle of the NASA astronomy picture of the day at http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap060825.html
Wizard of OZ Emerald City Green. Collage of characters include Dorothy Gale, Lion (Zeke), Tinman (Hickory), Scarecrow (Hunk), Wicked Witch (Ms. Gulch) and Toto (Pooch). Emerald City beckons from the prime corner. A tulip field graces the footer.
Carl Bloch - Sermon on the Mount. Famous artist painted this altarpiece around 1855. It features Jesus in his first major address to the many people following him. The text of Jesus's speech can be found in Matthew 5-7. Related terms are; Beatitudes, Salt and Light, Light of the World, Lamp under a bushel, Agape.
San Diego Mount Soledad Memorial. There are over 3,000 plaques honoring veterans, living and deceased, from the Revolutionary War to the current conflicts in the Middle East. The plaques on the walls tell the stories of scores of men and women from Presidents, Medal of Honor recipients, Admirals, Generals, Hollywood celebrities and thousands of others with names that are unfamiliar, but who proudly served our country to help protect the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
Translucent red poppy flowers stand foreground vigilance protecting a birch tree forest from an encroaching danger. Ironically the ruby flowers did not survive the assault of winter but the forest of birch did survive. Thankfully, there were both poppies and mommies in this family of Papaveraceae so new poppies rose from the earth when winter passed. Red poppies are also a symbol of remembrance of soldiers who have died during wartime... sigh.
