Youtube Customizer allows you to hide various layout elements on YouTube's page, such as sidebar subscriptions, "Shorts" tab, search bar and more. it includes the ability to replace home page with subscriptions page if you are tired of the recommendation system of YouTube.

The extension supports integration with ff2mpv: https://github.com/woodruffw/ff2mpv, allowing you to open videos straight away, without needing to click the extension icon.
