YouTube Default Settings lets you set persistent preferences for YouTube playback so videos always open the way you like — quality (144p–4K), playback speed (0.1–16), default volume (0–100%), subtitles (preferred language or off), original audio track, and an audio normalizer. You can also automatically hide members-only videos. Enable only the options you need and the extension applies them to standard videos and Shorts.

Quick setup: open the extension popup after installation, choose your defaults and refresh YouTube. Privacy-focused and open source — no tracking or data collection. Support is optional via pay-what-you-want on Ko-fi, and the full source code and issue tracker are available on GitHub for transparency and contributions.

its awesome and work great!! - i notice that as soon i open the video page...it auto refrash to apply something...is a little boring `cause Firefox is not that fast browser. - sometimes with ''always off'' the subtitle still appearing Q and Tips: - add 8k quality in the list - why not unifying with the another addon? there we can use the ''original'' options (title description ) - theatre mode
