X Theme Engine gives you complete control over how X looks, feels, and behaves. Choose a ready-made theme or build a detailed custom palette, reduce distracting interface elements, and manage how media appears in your timeline.

Themes and Colors

Create a fully custom color palette or choose from 20 pre-made themes Customize backgrounds, surfaces, cards, text, borders, accents, buttons, tabs, engagement controls, usernames, links, hashtags, and mentions. Assign different themes to Home, Explore, Notifications, Messages, Grok, Bookmarks, profiles, Settings, and Creator Studio.

Typography and Layout

Choose from 26 font options. Adjust text size and line height. Change feed width and interface corner styling. Create independently rounded post cards. Select Circle, Soft, Squircle, Square, Hexagon, or Diamond avatar shapes. Customize scrollbar width, thumb color, and track color. Enable reduced-motion styling.

Media Controls

Use Media Gate to obscure timeline images and videos until you choose to reveal them. Reveal individual posts with one click or reveal all media for the current session. Optionally preview gated media on hover. Control the strength of the gate blur. Automatically pause and mute gated video and audio. Adjust media brightness, grayscale, opacity, and saturation.

Privacy

X Theme Engine contains no analytics, tracking, advertising, or external network requests. It only requests Firefox’s storage permission to save your preferences through extension storage.
