User Reviews

The furigana is sometimes wrong. (Examples: It puts 「ま」 over 「間」 in the phrase 「の間に」, instead of 「あいだ」; in the phrase 「とは限らない」, the furigana reads 「かぎら」 when it should be just 「かぎ」). Aside from that, no complaints so far. (It would also be nice if the text could be read by Rikaichamp, but that's just a niche feature request. For all I know maybe it's not possible to have that kind of text in a new tab page.)

Wonderful, well-working add-on with a nice minimalistic design. Makes me spend a lot of time just refreshing the new page to see more words :) It seems to have relatively few words, though: I've run into the same ones quite a lot after just a few refreshes but maybe that will help me actually remember them... Maybe at some point in the future romanised transcripts could be added, as well as new words, it would definitely be useful. I'll definitely keep using this great add-on, thank you for making it. Maybe I'll even get to see some new features eventually!

Is Wordy Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Wordy requires very minimum permissions.

Risk impact analysis details
  • Medium Can alter new tab settings; fairly benign but with some capability to affect user experience.
Risk likelihood
Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Wordy has earned a fairly good reputation and likely can be trusted.
