A free & easy-to-use word editor extension for your browser.

Features & Capabilities

Word Editor Chrome Extension

Word Editor is a free, open-source word processing extension designed for your web browser. It provides an easy-to-use interface built atop the TinyMCE JavaScript library, allowing you to create, edit, and save HTML documents directly within your browser without needing additional software or plugins.

Simply open the extension to start typing or paste text with styles preserved from programs like MS Word or webpages. Save your work in HTML format using the built-in save functionality that writes files to your browser's default download folder. Word Editor supports full document editing features common to popular word processors but operates fully online as a lightweight browser addon.

If you encounter any bugs or have feature requests, visit the addon's homepage to submit your feedback. Note that the extension currently handles HTML files exclusively and does not support .doc or .docx formats.
