User Reviews
Pros
- Adds user-defined titles to browser windows, helping organize multiple windows.
- Simple to use: click the icon, enter a title, and the window shows the new title.
- Works across macOS, Linux, and Windows.
- Titles do not affect webpage titles or screenshots, which is desirable.
Cons
- Titles often disappear or are not saved/persist after restart or during use, making the feature unreliable.
- Activation issues on Linux due to keyboard shortcut conflicts or toolbar icon not always available; requires manual shortcut management.
- Some users feel the project is not actively maintained, leading to unaddressed bugs.

Very very nice. READ the directions about the title bar.

It works in general, I started to use it when Firefox changed its sorting algorithm in Windows dropdown menu on macos (around version 108 in 2023). It was useful that time. It also works on linux, but it is not that useful. It's a pity the extension is not able to rename windows in "recently closed windows" tab about:firefoxview#opentabs Although this may happen due to inconsitency in Firefox windows naming as mentioned in github.com/tpamula/webextension-window-titler/issues/43
Anyway, the extension is not developed for few years.

Is Window Titler Safe?
Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.
Window Titler does not require any sensitive permissions.
