User Reviews

Window Resizer can resize the Firefox window to specific dimensions and may help test how sites render at particular resolutions. However, it suffers from reliability and usability issues: it often doesn’t work in private windows or on some Firefox versions; presets and UI behave poorly (defaults reappear, duplicates appear, and interaction is mouse-only with no clear toolbar icon); creating new sizes is error-prone; and resizing the window does not always affect the page content as some users expect. Overall, the functionality exists but is inconsistent and frustrating.
Pros
  • Resizes the Firefox window to specified dimensions (functionality observed when it works).
  • Can be used to spoof website rendering by presenting a chosen window size to sites.
  • Provides preset window sizes out of the box.
Cons
  • Often unusable: doesn’t work in private windows and may fail on some Firefox versions.
  • UI is mouse-dependent with no visible toolbar icon or keyboard navigation.
  • Presets frequently reappear after deletion and new presets can auto-add unwanted items.
  • Creating new window sizes is error-prone with duplicates or deletions; defaults reappear.
  • Resizing the window does not necessarily affect the page content, which may not meet some users' needs.
Recent reviews
Only works on normal windows, doesn't work on private windows. It auto-populates with a lot of presets I don't care. When saving new presets, it auto-adds a bunch of stuff I just deleted. It requires using a mouse, I cannot use keyboard to navigate and interact with the extension. Overall, it feels poorly coded and lacks polish.

KNOCK-KNOCK, HELLO? IF we can install it, why can't we use it? Rather senseless to host it for download if it's unusable.

It's difficult to create new window sizes. Sometimes it creates two instead of one, and other times it just deletes them. Plus, even after removing the default ones, they keep reappearing automatically.

A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Window Resizer does not require any sensitive permissions.
