whyEXT Image Quick Save Firefox

whyEXT Image Quick Save

By: byrdltd Add-on
Hover any normal webpage image to save it in one click. Optional “Save As” dialog. Your preferences are stored locally in Firefox—no accounts and no cloud sync.

Features & Capabilities

whyEXT Image Quick Save makes saving images faster: when you hover an image on a website, a small download button appears so you can save it with one click.

What you get

  • Hover-to-save button on images (on normal http:// and https:// pages).
  • Popup toggle to enable/disable the hover button quickly.
  • Options to choose whether Firefox should show the Save As dialog for each download.
How it works
  • A lightweight content script adds UI only while you browse pages you visit.
  • When you click save, the extension asks Firefox to download the image URL using the Downloads API.
Privacy
  • No telemetry, no analytics, and no remote code execution.
  • Stores only extension settings needed for functionality (for example: enabled/disabled, Save As preference).
Permissions (why they exist)
  • Broad website access (http://*/*, https://*/*) is required so the hover button can appear on the pages where you want to save images.
  • Downloads is required to save the image file to your computer.
  • Storage is required to remember your settings locally.
Limitations / honest expectations
  • Some sites use unusual image loading techniques; if an image URL can’t be downloaded by the browser, saving may fail.
  • This extension is meant for normal web pages; restricted/internal pages may not be supported.
