Weekday Checker Firefox

Weekday Checker

Alerts when you type a day of the week and date, but they don't appear to match

Features & Capabilities

When sending an email, I would often include a sentence like "Tues Jan 21", only to find that Jan 21 was a Wednesday this year. Then I would have to send a follow up email clarifying whether you meant Tuesday the 20th or Wednesday the 21st.

This plugin watches updates to input fields, and if something that looks like a day of week plus date occurs, it looks for the closest one to the current date in the calendar, and makes sure the day lines up with the date. If it doesn't, it uses a simple popup alert.

After it alerts for one date it won't alert for it again unless the phrase is removed from the input box and put back. This allows user to edit it to fix, or to simply accept it because it was intentional.

Is Weekday Checker Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

Weekday Checker requires a few sensitive permissions. Exercise caution before installing.

Risk likelihood measures the probability that a Firefox add-on may turn malicious. This is determined by the publisher and the Firefox add-on reputation on Firefox Add-ons Store, the amount of time the Firefox add-on has been around, and other signals about the Firefox add-on. Our algorithms are not perfect, and are subject to change as we discover new ways to detect malicious extensions. We recommend that you always exercise caution when installing a Firefox add-on.

Weekday Checker is recently added, and hasn't been around long enough for us to gather enough data to accurately assess its risk level.
