Website Time Blocking is a Chrome extension that helps you reclaim your attention by replacing fast, mindless clicks with mindful decisions. When you try to open a distraction site, you face an unskippable prompt and must declare how you’ll use the site (duration, video count, etc.). If your plan expires, the site is blocked and a cooldown prevents immediate retry.

Choose from Duration Mode for timed sessions or Count Mode for YouTube video caps. The extension includes a dark mode, a clean, modern design, and fully customizable settings. It ships with a ready-to-use blocklist targeting popular distractors like Instagram, Reddit, and YouTube, while letting you add any URL you need. After each session, tweak cooldowns and keep your browsing focused.

Blocking sites like reddit completely through leech block has helped a ton, but I can't just block YouTube entirely. The disclaimer that asks how much time I wanna spend on certain site is such a good idea. Thank you for creating this, you have made my life a lot better!

EDIT: I report a bug below, which the creator fixed on the same day of me writing this review, as well as adding the additional suggested feature. I am extremely happy with this! --- This is exactly what I have spent ages looking for, thank you so much for creating it! There is one problem: I use Firefox on my laptop, which runs Windows. When I try to open a site on the blocklist, it takes over a minute to load (and usually shows a blank white page) before the intervention shows up and asks me how long I intend to spend on this site. I assume this is a bug. I think it would be a nice addition if it does make you wait for some time before asking you. But I'd like to know how long I am waiting ;) It would be wonderful if you can fix this. If the bug is not happening on your end and you would like more information about it, I am happy to discuss further details; my email is [redacted].
