User Reviews

Users generally praise the Vue.js devtools as a helpful, reliable tool for inspecting and editing component state and aiding Vue development. Repeated complaints center on the tree auto-expanding (making the UI hard to read) and intermittent UI bugs (timeline hangs and the panel not appearing consistently).
Pros
  • Useful and helpful for Vue.js development — good for visualizing and editing component/module state
  • Works well/reliable in normal use (several users report it 'works perfectly' or 'pretty well')
  • Overall positive reception and strong recommendation for Vue debugging and development
Cons
  • Inspector tree auto-expands by default, making the UI crowded/unreadable and forcing users to collapse nodes repeatedly
  • Occasional UI instability (timeline can hang with a spinning wheel; the devtools panel sometimes fails to display reliably)

Works well. Due to the new "vite-plugin-vue-devtools" plugin, it might see less use. The browser extension also seemed to consume a lot of memory over time (probably due to state change tracking, for Pinia) which sometimes did require restarts/closing the tab to start fresh. BUT this might not be intended but enabling the Vue.js devtools firefox addon somehow changes how XML documents are handled by firefox. When enabled, XML documents only shows the text content (which is annoying) while disabled, I see the default structured tree view. Could you please remove this XML mimetype handling? Or at least offer a configuration option (I have not found any) to allow users to opt-in/-out of it?

Tab doesn't show up in developer options on Firefox 144.0.2. Freshly installed, enabled/disabled, restarted Firefox, gave it all permissions, turned off all other extensions, removed and re-installed, can't get it to work. The option to show the tab is checked, tried toggling that as well.
