YOUR WORDS, EXACTLY

Voxtyper types what you said. It does not paraphrase, "improve," or rewrite. The transcription is faithful: it captures your phrasing, your sentence structure, and your voice, and adds only the punctuation and capitalization the text needs to read right.

This matters if you need the actual words you spoke, not a tool's interpretation of them.

Our speech-to-text engine was trained on 680,000+ hours of real-world audio across 99 languages and handles:

• Conversational speech with natural pauses and filler words
• Technical and medical vocabulary, including drug names and procedure terms
• Legal language, including case names, citations, and procedural terminology
• Numbers, dates, currency, times, and ordinal expressions
• Proper nouns including names, brands, and place names

1. Focus the text box where your words should appear.
2. Press Ctrl+Space to start recording.
3. Speak naturally. Pause briefly for commas, longer for periods.
4. Press Ctrl+Space again to stop. Voxtyper transcribes and pastes into the focused text box.

Skip saying the punctuation: don't speak "comma," "period," "question mark," or "exclamation point" out loud. Voxtyper picks up punctuation from your pauses and the grammar of your sentences. Saying the words out loud will write them as text instead.

ONE-HANDED OPERATION

Ctrl+Space is a toggle: press to start, press again to stop. This is intentional. Voxtyper is designed so you can control every aspect of dictation from a single remapped mouse button, leaving your other hand free. Cancel and remap shortcuts are configurable from the settings page.

SIMPLE PRICING

• Free: 20 minutes of dictation per month anonymously, or 60 minutes per month with a free account. No credit card required.
• Unlimited: $9 per month for unrestricted dictation. Subscribe and unsubscribe at any time through the settings page.

PRIVACY BY DESIGN

• Your audio is never stored. It is sent to a transcription provider, used to generate the transcript, and immediately discarded.
• Your transcribed text is never stored. It is returned to your browser and inserted into the field you focused. Our backend does not log it, save it, or look at it.
• We record only the date, duration, and transcription provider used for each request, plus the IP address for abuse prevention.
• The microphone is accessed only during an active dictation. It is not opened on page load, not opened on install, and closes the moment you stop or cancel a recording.

Most dictation tools charge by the credit, require switching to a separate app, or try to be your editor.
