Vines Expository Dictionary is a powerful Chrome extension designed for those studying the Authorized King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. It cross-references key English words found in the KJV with their original Greek terms from the New Testament, offering users a clear and concise understanding of the Bible's original language. By highlighting subtle differences in Greek words that translate into a single English word, such as various forms of "love," this tool enriches comprehension beyond standard English dictionaries.
Ideal for both novices who do not study Greek and advanced users familiar with the original texts, Vine's Dictionary provides definitions and example Bible verses that illuminate the deeper meanings of words within their Biblical context. This extension serves as a valuable resource for students, scholars, and anyone seeking a more nuanced study of the KJV Bible.
Users appreciate Vines Expository Dictionary for its detailed and easy-to-use Bible word studies, especially for Greek New Testament terms, with helpful scripture references and study tools. However, multiple reviews note the lack of Old Testament/Hebrew coverage, audio feature crashes, navigation limitations, unclear references, and missing explanations of significant Hebrew names as notable drawbacks.

Useful for deepening understanding of Biblical words and their original meanings, aiding Bible word studies.

Cons
App crashes when using the audio feature, which users find disappointing as hearing words is helpful.
Only includes New Testament words; lacks coverage of the Old Testament and Hebrew terms, disappointing some users.
Some navigation issues like lack of a back button that allows stepping back more than one screen without exiting the app.
Certain cross-references in definitions (e.g., 'see +, p.9') are unclear and confusing to users.
The app misses explanation of God's personal Hebrew name, which some users expected given the app's Hebrew and Greek focus.
