Vim For Docs

Vim-For-Docs brings Vim motions to Google Docs, letting you navigate and edit text using familiar keystrokes. It supports Vim-style navigation (h, j, k, l), word and paragraph movements, editing commands (d, c, y) with motion support, and insert and visual modes (i, a, v, V). The mapping is intuitive and requires no complex setup—install and start using Vim motions instantly.

Vim-For-Docs intercepts keystrokes in Google Docs to remap them to Vim-like motions while preserving Docs' native behavior, enabling fast keyboard-driven editing. Note: some Vim commands (like scrolling) aren’t included due to Google Docs limitations. Installation is simple: click "Add to Chrome," then start editing in Google Docs using Vim-style shortcuts.
