VaultMarks Firefox

VaultMarks

By: Pinguyz
VaultMarks protects your bookmarks with a password and AES-256 encryption. No cloud, no servers — your data always stays on your device.

Features & Capabilities

VaultMarks lets you save sensitive bookmarks in an encrypted vault protected by a master password. All data is stored locally in your browser using AES-256-GCM encryption: nothing is ever sent to servers, cloud services, or third parties.

🔐 Features

  • Encrypted vault: bookmarks are protected with AES-256-GCM and PBKDF2 key derivation with 310,000 iterations
  • Master password: the only key to access your vault. It is not stored anywhere and cannot be recovered
  • Import from Firefox: import your existing bookmarks with a visual folder tree and selective import
  • Encrypted backup: export your vault as an encrypted JSON file and restore it at any time
  • Auto-lock: choose when the vault locks: always, every time the popup opens, for the browser session, or after a custom time interval
  • Zero tracking: no analytics, no telemetry, and no external connections of any kind
🛡️ Privacy

VaultMarks does not collect any data. All cryptographic operations run locally using the browser’s built-in Web Crypto API. Your bookmarks never leave your device.

👨‍💻 Open and transparent

The extension does not contain obfuscated code. All logic is readable and auditable directly from the source code.

Is VaultMarks Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

VaultMarks requires very minimum permissions.
