Usage in Bookmarks for Claude Firefox

Usage in Bookmarks for Claude

Keeps your Claude usage limits on the bookmarks toolbar, refreshed in the background. Not affiliated with Anthropic.

Features & Capabilities

Claude.ai shows how much of your usage limit you have left, but only if you go looking for it. This extension puts that number on your bookmarks toolbar and keeps it current, so you can see at a glance how much room is left before you start a long session.

WHAT IT DOES

On first run it creates one bookmark on your bookmarks toolbar and renames that bookmark on a timer. Your own bookmarks are never read, moved or modified — the extension remembers the id of the one it made and touches nothing else. Clicking that bookmark opens the Claude usage settings page; clicking the toolbar icon forces an immediate refresh.

The toolbar icon also carries a badge with your current session percentage, which turns amber at 70% and red at 90%.

WHAT YOU CAN CHANGE

Open Preferences to choose which limits appear and in what order — current session, all models over seven days, Opus, Sonnet, connected apps, Cowork — whether the session reset countdown is shown, and how often it refreshes, from one to sixty minutes. A live preview shows the title your choices produce.

A limit your plan does not have is skipped rather than shown as zero.

PRIVACY

Nothing is collected and nothing is transmitted anywhere except claude.ai itself. There is no server, no account, no analytics and no telemetry. Your settings and the bookmark id are stored on your device with storage.local, and deliberately not with storage.sync, so they never travel through a Mozilla account.

The extension holds a host permission for claude.ai and nothing else, so it is not technically able to contact another host. There is no content script, so it runs on no web page at all.

HOW IT WORKS

It reads the same usage endpoint the Settings → Usage page in claude.ai reads, authenticated by the login cookie already in your browser. Nothing is asked of you: if you are signed in to claude.ai in this Firefox profile, it works.

That endpoint is unofficial and undocumented. If Anthropic changes it the bookmark falls back to a dash rather than showing a stale number.

There is no build step. The code in the add-on is the code in the repository, unminified and readable. A privacy check runs in CI on every commit and fails the build if any network call, dynamic-code call, synced storage, sensor API, analytics name, or URL outside claude.ai appears in the source.
