User Reviews

Users appreciate the Unit Converter add-on for its convenience, simplicity, and comprehensive metric conversions. However, multiple reviews highlight the absence of keyboard shortcuts and context menu integration, making it less ergonomic. Another common issue is the lack of automatic detection of selected numbers for conversion, requiring manual input. The add-on also falls short in presenting imperial length units in the conventional feet and inches format. Additionally, safety concerns arose due to antivirus flags and compatibility problems with newer Firefox versions, limiting usability for some users.
Pros
  • Convenient and solid tool for quick unit conversions.
  • Simple and user-friendly interface making it easy to use.
  • Comprehensive coverage of common metric conversions.
  • Helpful for converting very large or very small units.
  • Effective and accurate unit conversion between metric and imperial systems.
Cons
  • Lack of keyboard shortcuts or context menu for faster access.
  • Does not detect or use highlighted/selected numbers for conversion automatically.
  • Imperial length conversions are only provided in decimal form, not in feet and inches format.
  • Potential false positive triggering by some antivirus software, causing safety concerns.
  • Compatibility issues with newer Firefox versions due to updated extension standards.

Not a good interface.

Solid and convenient tool for converting units on the fly. However, without a keyboard shortcut, I find myself quickly annoyed by having to manually click on the addon icon every time I want to convert something. Please add a shortcut, perhaps even a context menu or the ability for the converter to automatically copy & paste the value being converted if it's highlighted first.

Useless, no context menu, no unit detection, even no selected number detection... It's basically a separate app in your browser with very poor ergonomics
