Features & Capabilities

Umbrella by CloudDay.io is a privacy browser extension built for CloudDay.io clients and privacy-conscious users. It provides comprehensive, automated protection across eight privacy dimensions:

•Tracker Blocking — 29,040 rules derived from EasyPrivacy plus 309 custom CloudDay.io rules covering Google, Meta, Microsoft, Amazon, LinkedIn, TikTok, Adobe, Oracle, Salesforce, and 50+ ad networks

•Cookie Banner Auto-Rejection — 50+ CMP selectors covering OneTrust, Didomi, Axeptio, Cookiebot, Usercentrics, CookieYes, Iubenda, and more. Uses Shadow DOM for injection resilience, MutationObserver for dynamic banners, and CSS hiding fallback for persistent banners

•Global Privacy Control (GPC) — injects Sec-GPC: 1 header on all requests and sets navigator.globalPrivacyControl = true, legally recognized as a Do Not Sell/Share signal under CCPA and GDPR

•Data Broker Detection — detects visits to 93+ known data broker domains (Whitepages, Spokeo, BeenVerified, TruePeopleSearch, etc.) and shows an opt-out notification overlay

•Email Pixel Blocking — replaces 1x1 tracking pixels with transparent placeholders on Gmail, Outlook, and Yahoo Mail

•HTTPS Upgrade — automatically upgrades http:// navigations to https://

•Tracking Parameter Stripping — removes 20+ known tracking parameters (utm_source, fbclid, gclid, msclkid, etc.) from URLs before navigation completes

•WebRTC Leak Protection — prevents real IP address exposure through WebRTC even when using a VPN

The extension also performs Do Not Sell footer link detection (Phase 2 feature), canvas fingerprint resistance, social media tracker script blocking, and per-site memory to accelerate repeated visits. When signed in to a CloudDay.io account, the extension syncs monthly statistics to the user’s privacy dashboard. No browsing history is transmitted — only aggregate counts.
