While on a channel, a live notification keeps the radio active. Locked or in another app? Pull down the notification and tap TALK to transmit.

Local boat / field mode
When mobile data is poor or unavailable, pair with a QR code or short pin over a local network (same Wi‑Fi or hotspot). Encrypted link between your devices — no public radio spectrum.
