LG Inform App

The LG Inform App, created by the Local Government Association, provides quick and easy access to key data about your council and how it compares to others. Developed to complement the popular LG Inform online platform, which holds more than 13,000 up-to-date metrics in one place, the LG Inform App presents a curated sub-set of 110 metrics over 11 topic areas, for quick reference. Timely notifications and alerts as new data is published allows users to stay updated.

It allows you to:
- stay ahead of the game with key data about your council, kept up-to-date soon after it’s published
- easily share data with others
- ask the right questions about reasons for your council’s performance
- delve deeper to find more detailed evidence.

The data in this app is intended to support informed discussion, or allow you to ask questions, but does not provide definitive conclusions. This is because performance can be impacted by factors outside of councils’ control (for example, the number and proportion of older people in an area, or the type of housing or level of deprivation), or because the council may prioritise certain metrics over others due to political or strategic considerations. However, the LG Inform App can support informed discussions and allow responsible officers and politicians to ask questions.

The metrics are taken from various published national data collections: source information for each metric is listed under the detailed view. You may wish to investigate the data sources further to locate other similar data.
