User Reviews

Broken Sword 5: Episode 1 is praised for its nostalgic value, beautiful graphics, engaging puzzles, and faithful continuation of the classic adventure series. However, multiple users report serious compatibility issues on modern tall or large Android screens causing cropping that renders parts of the game unplayable. The game is also criticized for being split into two parts requiring separate purchases and being relatively short for the price. Fans appreciate the craftsmanship and story but desire better device support and potentially longer gameplay.
Pros
  • Nostalgic and faithful continuation of the classic Broken Sword series with engaging story and puzzles.
  • Beautifully crafted graphics and art style that blend well with the original's cartoonish design.
  • Fun and immersive point-and-click adventure gameplay with intuitive controls and well-executed dialogue.
  • Appeals both to fans of the original series and new players who enjoy adventure puzzle games.
  • Overall a masterful, entertaining game that captures the spirit of earlier Broken Sword titles.
Cons
  • Significant screen compatibility issues on modern tall and large Android devices causing parts of the game to be cropped and making it unplayable.
  • Game is split into two parts (episodes) requiring separate purchases, which frustrates some users compared to a single full game purchase.
  • Game length is considered short for the price, with some players wishing for a longer experience.
  • Occasional bugs like getting stuck during asset downloading or needing many hints to progress through puzzles.
  • Lack of recent updates from developers leading to concerns about ongoing support and compatibility fixes.

Game seems great, just like the old school ones BUT I'm having a major issue. When downloading further assets after the games opening it always and I do mean always gets stuck at 366.60mb. it will not go any further no matter what i do. Uninstall, reinstall, clear cache. I've tried them all and still nothing. Once this is sorted this would be a 5* game in my eyes because 1 and 2 are among the best game ever made imo.
