UberSDR Bridge Firefox

UberSDR Bridge

By: MadPsy
Control any UberSDR.org software-defined radio directly from your browser toolbar. Set frequency, mode and bandwidth, sync with flrig, manage multiple instances, save profiles, and discover local SDRs automatically.

Features & Capabilities

UberSDR Bridge connects Firefox to any open UberSDR software-defined radio page and gives you full radio control without leaving your browser.

Open the toolbar popup to see the current frequency, mode, bandwidth and signal level in real time. Type a new frequency, click a step button, or pick a mode from the dropdown — the SDR tunes instantly. You can also set the filter bandwidth manually.

KEY FEATURES

• Auto-detection — the extension silently watches for UberSDR pages. As soon as you open one, it registers automatically. No configuration required for basic use.

• Multi-instance support — running two SDRs side by side? The extension tracks all open UberSDR tabs. Click any entry in the popup to switch control to that instance, or close it with the ✕ button.

• VFO assignment — when two instances are open, assign each one to VFO A or VFO B on your transceiver. The extension switches the active VFO automatically as you move between tabs.

• flrig sync — optional bidirectional frequency and mode synchronisation with flrig (the popular rig-control application). Direction is configurable: SDR → rig, rig → SDR, or both ways. The extension connects to flrig's built-in XML-RPC server on localhost.

• Local instance discovery — if an UberSDR server is running on your local network and advertising itself as ubersdr.local, the extension probes it automatically and shows it at the top of the instance list, above public instances.

• Public instance browser — browse the live list of public UberSDR instances from instances.ubersdr.org directly in the popup. Select one to open it in a new tab or replace the current one.

• Profiles — save a named snapshot of your current setup (which instances are open, their VFO assignments, frequency, mode and bandwidth). Recall any profile later with one click; missing tabs are opened and tuned automatically.

• Signal meter — a colour-coded bar shows received signal strength (dBFS) and SNR in real time.

• Mute control — mute or unmute the selected SDR tab's audio from the toolbar without switching to that tab.

• Power switch — disable the extension entirely without uninstalling it. Re-enable it with one click.

Is UberSDR Bridge Safe?

Risk impact
Risk impact measures the level of extra permissions an extension has access to. A low risk impact extension cannot do much harms, whereas a high risk impact extension can do a lot of damage like stealing your password, bypassing your security settings, and accessing your personal data. High risk impact extensions are not necessarily malicious. However, if they do turn malicious, they can be very harmful.

UberSDR Bridge requires some sensitive permissions that could impact your browser and data security. Exercise caution before installing.
